Charming and Intimate Fairhope Engagement Session

Let's start this post by saying that my family didn't really do family vacations. My brother is significantly older so if my mom wasn't tending to me, working 50+ a week or dealing with my older collegiate brother (notice how I said dealing...love you brother) she was sleeping. It was one aspect of my life that I never understood as to why we didn't go until I was old enough to plan my own trips.

I was blessed with grandparents who loved to take me on trips. When I was a little girl my grandparents loaded me up with one of my dear friends and they would take me to the big town of Fairhope, AL. I went two times a year and literally yearned for this city. My grandfather would feed my creative mind by letting me loose with a video camera. I would record my adventures and create shows to record around the Grand Hotel. My best summer memories are at that hotel. Every day I ate chicken stripes with honey mustard, drank strawberry daiquiris, swam in the bay, rode my bike, visited the salon for a new hair do and roamed the large grounds looking for any secret corner to be silly with my friend Emily. I really can remember it all. The smells, the sounds, the food, the sunshine. It sparked my love for nautical decor and sand between my toes. I dream of the day I can take my children and husband there.

You can imagine my big, fat YES when I got this submission from So Life Studios of Alan and Hilary roaming the streets of Fairhope. This city is filled with colorful beach homes and the sound of waves in the bay. I can only imagine how gorgeous this sweet couple's wedding will be. These two have such magical chemistry. I really could look at their images all day long. I am a big fan of Hilary's freckles. Love them! Take a few minutes to go on vacation. You won't regret it!

Alan and Hilary will be saying "I do" at Marriott's Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama this fall. They made a quick trip into town for us to snap their engagement portraits. We spent an hour walking the streets of the quaint town of Fairhope and ended the session on a pier on Mobile Bay.

Foggy Virginia Beach Couple Session

A mix of urban downtown and the beach? Yes! I am in love with all the options and creativity that new venues bring to couples and LBP readers. In my area beach shots are not an option so that is why I love that Ashley and Chase chose this location. Ashley is stunning. Her white gown mixed with the foggy beach equal perfection. We started in Downtown Norfolk for urban shots. As we made our way towards Virginia Beach Oceanfront, we noticed the thick Marine Layer rolling in. By the time we were shooting on the beach, visibility was about 10 feet! These are the result. I love the passion from the couple.

Ocean House Rhode Island Enagment Session

I have been sitting on this submission for quite some time now. As I was putting it together, I couldn't stop smiling. Adam and Krissy may be the happiest couple that I have ever featured. They brighten your mood and make you believe in good and wholesome love. While this couple was hoping for sunshine, they made the fog romantic and intimate. No props. No sunshine which you know is my favorite. Nothing but happy hearts and a loving couple. I cannot thank Jessica Connery Photography enough for this engagement session!

Adam and Krissy's story: I have to say, in my opinion, he had the advantage. Standing well over six feet tall, he was able to see everyone at the party. He looked around at his friends who were all having a good time and smiled along with them. His good natured attitude and infectious smile proved he was having fun. When Krissy came in along with a date, Adam from his high vantage point, locked in on her and knew he had to talk to her. He didn't let the fact that she was at the party with a date stop him. When Adam sets his sights on something, he stays locked in on the focus point. Lucky for him Krissy's date wasn't turning out well. After some persistence, Adam left the party with her number. If I know Adam at all, I'm sure he also left with a grin the size of the Cheshire Cat. Their first date was a little rocky when, after a motorcycle accident, Krissy sat with Adam watching Roadhouse [his movie choice] while he recovered. Now, more than six years later they are ready to take on the next stage of life together. On a misty morning on the coast of Rhode Island, I met up with Krissy and Adam to shoot their engagement session. Although we had hoped for sun, Krissy and Adam showed us how romantic mist and fog can be. If I get to vote on the weather I would choose fog more often.
