Black Tie and Plum Houston Wedding

Happy Monday loves! How was your weekend? I hope it was full of fabulous memories. I am excited to make Monday memories. Those memories include today's gorgeous wedding. Smiling couples are always a good thing.

I don't know if I have ever seen a couple as happy as Diana and Luis. Even the guests are beaming and Julie Wilhite Photography did a wonderful job capturing everyone's happiness.

This wedding is magical. There is no other word for how wonderful this wedding truly is. This wedding includes a very charming couple, decor that channels elegance and witty groomsmen. And the first look. Oh boy, is it good! You just cannot beat it y'all!

{From the bride}
We met during the pre-freshman summer program in college, became close friends through college, and remained friends after college because we both were from Houston and would see each other when both in town. Eventually it came out that we'd always had secret feelings for each other. In January 2010, we decided to explore those feelings and started a long distance relationship, which eventually brought us both back home to Houston. We both care a lot about our families, and our parents have similar stories - growing up on farms, immigrating to the US, working hard so we could have better lives, and encouraging us to do well in school, as someday it would pay off. I suppose the wedding represents the culmination of that - celebrating dreams come true, and remembering where we came from.

We're going for classic romance meets modern elegance. The colors are rich aubergine, silver accents, and flowers in pinks, lavender and ivory. We wanted to convey our cultures and backgrounds, with Latin American and Filipino cuisines, and tables named after places important to us and our families. Lush flowers and lots of candle light will help provide the romance. Modern elements include the courtyard ceremony in front of a water wall, purple uplighting and a fun photobooth at the reception, where guests will add pictures to our guest scrapbook.
