Randy & Lace's Wedding Highlight

2012 was such an exciting year for Lovebird Productions. I learned more about having a small business, grew my contacts, made wonderful and new friends, worked with fabulous brides and grew my little blog. But while it was amazing I will be honest, it was also hard. I slowly learned that I was not enjoying the whole editing video thing as much as I originally had. I found out not every one is nice in the industry or online. I also had my first terrible, terrible wedding. I struggled for so long with the fact that I started Lovebird Productions as a wedding videography and production company but my feelings and desires were changing. I have invested time and a lot of money (the biggest factor) and wasn't happy. I thought I had failed and to some it still may seem that way. The biggest thing I have learned about myself is that each lesson and trial that I face, I learn more about myself and grow from those experiences...as cliche as that sounds. I have to be me.

So even though I knew I didn't want to produce video or that be my main focus, it was a tearful decision and one that took me months to even speak out loud. I was worried what people would think. I was worried about my image. I was prideful. It was exhausting, the internal struggle.

I started the blog as a side gig to producing video. Over the last two years (almost), the blog has become my happy place. I love meeting new vendors. I love talking with brides. I love the interaction it gives me with amazing women. I get to encourage ladies every day by the words that I type. I cannot get enough of this blog.

I want to grow this blog like a tumbleweed. I have made changes over the past few months that have brought me to this place. At times I will start to question myself about focusing solely on the blog and then my readership spikes or a new vendor contacts me about wanting to advertise. I am constantly blown away by how faithful God is to me and my family. I am starting to pray for what I want and need without feeling selfish. He is delivering and why I still get surprised by that I don't know?

So this is where I am. I am wedding blogger. I am a contact for brides looking for vendors. I am an encourager. I am a writer. I am a friend. I am a smile for a lady who is down in the dumps and needs a little Love Song Friday. I am a source for brides planning their special day. I am Lovebird Productions. I am full of mistakes and accomplishments and happiness and hope. I am learning that exactly who I am is enough.

Before I lay down the wedding cameras I wanted to share one last highlight. I can hands down say that Lace and Randy are the best thing that has ever happened to Lovebird Productions. Lace randomly found me on Wedding Wire (which I do not think anything is random) and she contacted me with their wedding date. Since she didn't live in New Braunfels, I called and we chatted on the phone. After that call I knew we would be a perfect fit. Lace also decided she wanted her Love Story with Randy filmed. I met the pair in Frederisckburg and spent the day following them around. They are ideal. I cannot get over the way Randy looks at Lace. I love how kind Lace's heart is. It will blow you away.

It was such a treat to work with these two and I feel that I need to tell them thank you. They blessed me more than they will ever know. Their love for one another is beyond refreshing and uplifting. They put others before themselves and their wedding day was full of happiness. Every single person (100+) who attended their wedding was so happy to be there and eager to celebrate their new chapter as husband and wife. Lace and Randy, thank you for the sweet thank you notes. Thank you for making me laugh. Thank you for being a friend. Thank you for showing me how to be happy for the moments of every day life and what happens now. You two are one-of-a-kind. I know....I love these two!

Before I show you their highlight, I wanted to show you picture from their big day. Delightful Dimples took these awesome shots and I think everyone should hire her! Brittni is my favorite. Warning: Lace is drop dead gorgeous. You will want her hair and regret not having a Spanish style cathedral veil. And now for my favorite highlight of all time.

I personally think you should click on the title below and watch it larger but just my opinion. Ha!

  1. Oh wow! Now I think you and I are even more alike than before. I stopped photographing weddings for the very same reason and the whole process of getting to that decision was pretty much identical to what you described. But I'm much happier now just focusing on the blog. And even though you do beautiful work, (the video above nearly made me cry), I know you'll be happier too. Hugs friend!

  4. What a heartfelt post. I can't imagine what a difficult decision it must've been for you but it's truly wonderful that you are following your heart and your happiness. Life is too short not to! :)

And, what a way to go out with a bang! This video is beautiful - such sweet storytelling. Great idea to do the split screen when you shared Randy's message to Lace. And, on a side note, Lace's dress and hair were absolute perfection!
