Welcome to Camp Skip!
Well Skipper is one.
A whole year of that kid and I still cannot get enough. I seriously wonder how many times a day I smoother those cheeks with kisses. He is the best.
Planning his party was so fun and really inexpensive. We had a lot of things on hand plus my goal was to make it all about Skip versus stress.
We spent the morning surrounded by family and friends and it really was a perfect day. I want to do it all over again, keep the details the same and laugh as hard as I did when Skip stared at us like we were crazy for singing to him. It was hysterical!
I purchased a few things from Etsy like the one balloon, wooden utensils and straws, grabbed some plates and napkins from Target, pulled together what I could from our home to make the camping theme come together and baked a little cake for Skip. I got up early to bake three quiches (via the pioneer woman) and they were a hit. We had just a few bites leftover. Add in some flavored sodas, mimosas, donuts and perfect weather and you can see why I want to celebrate again.
I really am so proud of my child but the biggest thing I am learning is that I want him proud of me. It has shaped so many of my decisions and prayers lately and for that I am thankful.
