Friday, Friday, Friday...I am chanting this while hopped up on coffee. Today is my sweet husbands birthday, which you can read more on here. I surprised him with tickets to see Daniel Tosh in Austin! I have to say giving special gifts to friends and family make me really happy. I love seeing their reactions. Rusty is turning 28 today and I am so grateful for my handsome husband and best friend! Happy birthday dear! (Yes, occasionally he reads the blog. Here's to hoping he does today!)
This week's Q & A session is one of my favorites so far.
Q. What was the biggest thing you stressed over when wedding planning?
This is such a good question and guess what? You are going to get an honest answer. Yes, wedding planning is stressful. I also think that you can disperse some of the stress and responsibilities of wedding planning to bridesmaids, friends and family. My family and friends helped out so much so the stress was little but there. The biggest thing I worried about was would everything look okay together? You pick your colors. You pick your centerpieces. You pick your cake but not until the day before your wedding can you see everything together. I worried that all my colors and decor wasn't going to be cohesive. I was blessed to have a group of women set up our reception. (The ceremony was just white chairs and two floral arrangements.) It looked wonderful but can I be honest? After I got a good look at the reception space the morning of my wedding I never really thought about it again. Once we danced our way into the reception, I didn't notice bows or lights. I just enjoyed all the guests and made sure they had a blast! We were so blessed to have people help at every turn with planning our wedding!
Times will be stressful. Tears may come. Frustrations may mount but my best advice is enjoy it along the way. You get one chance to plan your big day and then it is over. As long as you don't lose focus on the whole overall goal, things will work. You are marrying the love of your life. You are walking down the isle regardless of if the flowers match the dresses or whether the cake is large enough. Just keep your eyes on the prize which is a lifetime of love!
