Q & A: We're Engaged. What Do We Do Now?

Ahhh. Welcome Friday. Smell that? Yeah, that is the smell of the weekend. Enough small talk, we are all friends here. Let's dive in.

I wanted to share this video with you. This is a sneak peak for what I will be sharing next week. In December I was introduced to my first Texas wedding and let me tell you, it was SO much FUN! Every time I play back their footage I am amazed at how laid back the couple was, how fun their guests were and how much I love Texas. Take a look at this family dance:

Q. We just got engaged. What do we do now?

This little diddy of a question is a VERY good one to ask. I promised to keep this brief and not a long post were I drag on and on with multiple points in bold font so that you don't forget them. <- The answer is nothing like that previous sentence. While I could make this a long post that is not what Friday Q & A is about.

1. Enjoy the moment. Don't try to start planning a mere four days after your engagement. Take your time. Be blissful.

2. Find a Venue. Selecting the venue helps set everything in motion. It helps with deciding decor, number of guests and more.

3. Select Your Date. This also goes along with finding the venue. Some venues have wide-open dates while others only have a few to choose from. Before you select your venue, make sure you have a few dates in mind.

4. Start Making the Guest List. Start gathering addresses. You will be so glad you started early!

5. Brainstorm/Make an Inspiration Board. Making an inspiration board or having a few magazine pages on hand help you know exactly what you want. This allows you to start gathering supplies, meeting with vendors and DIYing!
