Today's question is one that I get asked a lot. Actually some people are afraid to ask me because of my profession. I will be brief and honest.

Q: Do we really need a videographer for our wedding?

Here's the thing, I know that wedding videography is still very new to a lot of brides and grooms. Some couples immediately book and don't turn back while others wait until the last minute and use what ever budget is left. Yes, some videographers are outrageously expensive and for what they are asking an hour long DVD does seems a bit silly. I get that. I was one of those brides. I chose to let a family member film our big day. We saved money and got to spend it elsewhere. With that being said, it was was the biggest mistake I made. Reason #1: My family seemed to misplace the footage. At this point I laugh about it because this is fitting for my family. Reason #2: By not having a videographer we do not have any real moments from our wedding. We do have wonderful photos but no live footage. We had a blast. We laughed. We cried. We danced. We toasted. We had the best night ever but have no video to show. None whatsoever.

I look at other wedding videos and am sad each time I think about how we missed out. I know I said I would keep it brief but I cannot stress the benefits of having a videographer. There are moments as a bride that you miss. A video captures it all. There are moments that you want to watch back. No worries if you have a video you can do that. There are moments that will forever make you smile and guess what? A video has that moment too. Do you really want to pass up the opportunity to have forever moments captured on film?

For more on why wedding videography is a fabulous decision and what to expect with a videographer read this posts here and here. See y'all in a bit for Love Song Friday!
