The wedding this past weekend was my first Texas wedding and it was a blast! With every wedding I learn something new. That means it is that time again were I list just a few lessons learned along the way. For previous lessons just click here and here.
1. Appreciate it all. Don't get me wrong. Every wedding I am apart of is a blessing. I cannot thank the brides, their friends and family enough for their hospitality and kindness on the wedding day. I just really miss dancing at weddings. I know that is silly but I love to dance. Yes, my moves are good! I am beyond grateful for the weddings I get to film but this summer I will get to dance at my first wedding (where I am not filming) in over a year. It is the little things to look forward too.
2. New venue and new vendors. This is one of my favorite parts of weddings. I love meeting new coordinators, photographers and enjoying all the new venues. It is such a treat to meet other vendors who are experienced and very encouraging! Take a look at the wonderful church:
Isn't it gorgeous? I was shocked when I walked in. And now for the reception site:
3. Catholic weddings are long. It was my first. Their isn't much explanation needed. I love tradition though. It makes a wedding even sweeter.
4. I love Southern food. I ate the whole plate. Yes probably 2,000+ calories but I didn't get lunch. This Texas wedding did it right. I had mashed potatoes, gravy, chicken fried steak, green beans and a roll. It was yummy but hard to work after I finished the whole plate. Yikes!
5. Southern weddings and brides truly are the best. I hate to be biased but southern weddings are the best. You get girls in cute cowgirl boots, choreographed family dances, wonderful food and drinks, southern hospitality and a healthy dose of charm. Yes, I have attended weddings up north but their is just something about the South. Everyone should say they went to at least one Southern wedding.
6. My brides are the best. I mean this and my heart is full by how sweet they are. I have been blessed a million times over by the amazing brides I have filmed. God is good!
That wraps up my list of things. I love my job...well not necessarily a job but a passion. I love what I do. For more news, I tweeted this video on Friday but it is so funny that I wanted to share it on the blog:
And now for the best part of this post: I have my first featured interview.

I know. I can't believe it either! I met Dan and Kristi a few months ago and they have become such sweet friends. Dan is an amazing photographer and I will be featuring his work later this week. Take a peek at the article by clicking here. Let me know what you think!
