Guys I do not know about y'all but I am VERY ready for Christmas. Less than a week to go! Fall/Winter is always a fun time of year for the Farrins. We celebrated our one-year anniversary this past October (more on that here) and Jane dog had her first birthday that same month. Throw in Thanksgiving and Christmas and you can see why I love this time of year.
A year ago I had baby fever. Rusty and I were newly married and not ready for a baby but I thought about a baby all the time. I decided that a puppy was exactly what we needed. I started browsing online shelters in our area and found the cutest pup. I nervously submitted an application all without mentioning this to my husband. Eeeek. I eventually told him how much I wanted a puppy and he said we would think about it. The shelter called and I was approved for fur parent status. I can remember driving to Wynne to get our bitty (nickname). The manager of the shelter let me walk Holiday now Jane around and when I went to sit on the ground to play with her it looked just like Jane was hugging my leg. I was hooked!
I became a full fur mom that day and I am so lucky. My husband had never had a dog (strange to me) and learned a lot about puppies. Jane is so loving. She really is a best friend to my husband and I. She drives us crazy at times but we wouldn't have it any other way. She always loves on us, cuddles with us and puts the biggest smile on our faces. It amazes me that attachment that I have to Jane. Moving to Texas was exciting but at times very hard. Jane has always been there to make us laugh and remember that regardless of where we live as long as we are together we are home. Cheesy I know but I cannot imagine life without our fuzz butt (another nickname). Happy one year as a Farrin, Jane girl!
Can you imagine how bad I will be when I have a child? It is bad.
This week I plan on sharing my favorite posts from this past year + your favorites (most read) posts. I want to enjoy just a bit of down time this week and next. I plan on blogging every day but also taking things slow and enjoying this time of year. Have I mentioned how excited I am for Christmas yet?
One of the biggest and most read posts are about the wonderful brides I have worked with. Each bride is featured on the blog along with a quick interview about her other half, their wedding plans and also what life holds for them after their big day. I have featured four brides:
1. Nikki and Jordan Irby: Their wedding + reception was wonderful! Nikki is one of the sweetest people I know. Since their big day Nikki's wedding was featured on The Wedding Post here. To see the original interview click here.
2. Sarah and Brady DeClerk: Brady and Sarah were my true start into wedding videography and what a gorgeous and perfect wedding to begin with. Sarah is one of the most talented people I know. She has is fashionable, an awesome baker and an even sweeter friend. Their wedding was printed in Arkansas Bride which I mentioned here last week. To see the original interview click here and here.
3. Laken and Murray Watts: I just love Laken! Her wedding was so sweet and included one of the most intimate and personal ceremonies I have ever been apart of. To see the original interview click here.
4. Kimberly and Todd Baumgartner: Kimberly wins the most organized bride award. This girl kept me in the loop and I cannot express how comfortable that makes me feel. The day of her wedding was probably the most laid back and carefree start to a big wedding day. To see the original interview click here.
I hope that you all enjoy the recaps this week plus remembering posts that made you smile. Happy Monday loves!
