Recipe: Scotch Sour

Happy Monday! I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas. I got to experience my first Christmas in Texas and will continue the celebration when my family arrives today. I got a relaxing weekend with my better half. I even finished a book in one day. I can't remember the last time I did that! Sometimes a good book and a full day of PJ's is just what you need.

With the New Year just around the corner I thought I would share a fun and festive holiday cocktail perfect for entertaining and welcoming 2012. Say hello to the Scotch Sour...

Here is what you need:

2 ounces scotch
1 teaspoon lime juice
1/2 teaspoon powdered sugar
1 cherry or fruit to garnish

Directions:

1. Shake scotch, lime juice and powdered sugar in a cocktail shaker with ice until sugar dissolves.

2. Strain into an old-fashioned glass, mason jar, martini glass and garnish with the perfect New Year accessory. Try adding fruit, a bell, sugar around the rim or anything that sparkles! This recipe was adapted from She Knows.

This cocktail is sure to please guests and add a little punch to your holiday party or shower.
